The Minister of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Awat Sheikh Janab, received today, Tuesday (January 23, 2024), a delegation from the Iraqi border guards, confirming the existence of a good understanding between Erbil and Baghdad regarding customs and border crossings.[/size]
[size=45]The high-ranking delegation of the border guards, which visited the region's Minister of Finance and Economy, consisted of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard Forces, Major General Talib Ramadan, the Commander of the Border Guard Command, First District, Major General Delir Farzunda Zubair Zebari, and a number of other members.[/size]
[size=45]The meeting shed light on the problems and dilemmas related to the border crossings and the role of the border guards in the region, as the two sides agreed to work as one team to address the problems and remove obstacles.[/size]
[size=45]The Region's Finance Minister stressed that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, formed a higher committee to settle disputes between the Region and Baghdad related to customs and border points, stressing that there is a good understanding in this regard.[/size]
[size=45]For his part, the Deputy Commander of the Border Guard in Iraq thanked the Minister of Finance and relevant government institutions for their cooperation and coordination to work together to address differences.[/size]
