    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Thursday (July 27, 2023), the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Baghdad, Fares Issa, revealed that the delegation of the Kurdistan Region had reached an agreement with the federal government.
Issa said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the discussions between the two governments are positive and all the problems that the federal government has regarding the region's dues for the current year have been resolved."
He added, "The federal government agreed to finance the salaries of employees in the Kurdistan region, and to solve all budget problems, and simple things remained regarding the disagreement on specific parts."
On the other hand, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafaa Muhammad Karim, said that, after the phone call between the federal prime minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and the head of the regional government, Masrour Barzani, an agreement was reached and the Kurdish delegation was sent to Baghdad.
And Karim said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "there is a meeting today between the delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government with officials in the federal government to resolve a number of contentious problems between the two parties."
He added, "If the budget is launched and its allocations to the Iraqi governorates, a quota of 4 months will be sent to the region, and in the worst case scenario, an amount of 800 billion dinars will be sent to the region to finance the salaries of June."
Despite the end of July, the employees of the Kurdistan Region have not yet received the salaries of June, amid the Kurdistan Regional Government's lack of sufficient funds to pay salaries after the export of the region's oil stopped and delivered to Baghdad, which has not yet received the region's share of the budget due to disagreements over implementation mechanisms.
