Shafaq News/ The Director General of Roads and Land Transport in Ilam Al-Failiya Governorate revealed today, Wednesday, that the past ten months of the (Iranian) year witnessed nearly seven million people using the Mehran border crossing between Iraq and Iran, “back or forth.”
The Iranian Mehr News Agency, in a report translated by Shafaq News Agency, quoted Sayyed Zahedin Tashma Khawar, Director General of Roads and Land Transport in Ilam, as saying that since the beginning of the current year (the Iranian year starts from March 21) until the end of the tenth month, 6,952,203 people have traveled. People crossing the international borders of Mehran abroad.
Shamah Khawar added that of this number, 2 million 912 thousand 600 Iranians and 391 thousand 210 foreign travelers left the Mehran borders.
He continued that, during this same period, more than 3 million and 83 thousand Iranians and 564 thousand and 637 foreign travelers entered the country from the Mehran borders.
