Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Parliamentary Defense Committee in Iraq issued a warning about Washington stopping supplying Iraq with military equipment, saying that maintenance operations and training courses for aircraft and tanks would be frozen if this step was achieved.
The committee confirmed that there is increasing American pressure on Baghdad regarding the issue of removing foreign forces, with the United States obstructing the Iraqi army’s efforts to diversify its weapons sources and arsenal.
The warnings of the Parliamentary Defense Committee in Iraq reflect growing concerns about the repercussions of Washington's decision to stop supplying military equipment to Iraq, which may greatly affect the capabilities of the Iraqi army in facing internal and external security challenges.
This American pressure is part of an American strategy to influence Iraqi policies and make decisions related to security and military issues.
This pressure also coincides with Iraq's attempts to diversify its sources of weapons and armament to maintain its independence and ability to confront various challenges.
In this context, the Iraqi government must exert diplomatic and political pressure on the United States for continued military cooperation and the provision of necessary support to the Iraqi security forces, while preserving Iraq's sovereignty and national interests.
Analyzes see the importance of diversifying Iraq's armament sources with the aim of reducing total dependence on Washington or any other country.
There is an urgent need to liberate Iraq from external stakes and pressures, by developing its defense and military capabilities, allowing it to control its destiny more and achieve national independence.
Diversifying its sources of armament means that Iraq must search for reliable partners that it can rely on to provide it with military equipment and defense technology, so that it can achieve balance in international relations and enhance its strategic position.
For example, Iraq can move towards strengthening cooperation with neighboring regional countries or other international partners in the field of defense and armament, which will contribute to reducing American pressure and absolute dependence on Washington.
On the other hand, Iraq must benefit from its past experiences and lessons learned from modern history, which have shown that total dependence on one party or country makes it threatened and weak in the face of any future challenges.
