    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Political analyst Muhammad Ali Al-Hakim confirmed today, Monday (March 4, 2024), that Al-Sudani’s last interview on one of the Saudi channels included a heavy-caliber announcement that “threatens the future of the political and electoral coordination framework.”
Al-Hakim told Baghdad Al-Youm, “Whoever followed the meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani on the Saudi Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath channel was carrying within him a heavy-caliber bomb, which is his ambition for an Iraqi project, meaning that he will lead an electoral list and his leadership will be a political list in the upcoming parliamentary elections.” It was an announcement of the start of his political project.”
He added, "It is certain that the idea of Sudanese running for his electoral project may arouse the ire of the leaders of the framework and that the leaders of the coordination framework will stand strongly against his wishes because they supported Sudani's candidacy for the position of prime minister a year and a half ago, which was conditional on him not running in any future elections. Therefore, the idea of participating in a political bloc is a violation of promises." Between the Sudanese and the leaders of the framework.”
He stated, "After the Sudanese announced the start of his political project, we may witness a heated political arena in Iraq between most of the leaders of the framework, specifically Al-Maliki and Al-Amiri on the one hand, and the Sudanese on the other hand, and they may stand in the way of his future projects at all levels to close the way to his future aspirations, whether they are at the project or electoral level." ".
Al-Hakim continued, “Most of the forces of the Coordination Framework do not want to renew the Sudanese or nominate him in the upcoming elections for fear that he will be a difficult number in the political process. Therefore, behind the scenes, one of the leaders of the Coordination Framework stipulated that the Sudanese not be nominated in the elections and lead a political bloc in exchange for renewing his mandate, for fear of theft. Their votes are accepted by the popularity of the Sudanese, while some of the Sudanese’s (limited) successes have become a threat to the forces of the framework and their leadership on the throne because all the votes he will obtain will be swept away by the leaders of the framework, away from the votes of the Sunni and Kurdish components, which are exclusive to their politicians, not to mention the votes of the masses of the Sadrist movement. Participate in the elections, they will be closed only to current candidates.”
