[size=45]Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, confirmed that Iraq has “distinguished relations” with Iran and America.[/size]
[size=45]A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said that the latter “received, at his residence in the American capital, Washington, this Wednesday afternoon, a member of the Foreign Relations and Armed Forces Committees in the US Senate, Senator from the Democratic Party, Tim Kaine, and his accompanying delegation.”[/size]
[size=45]During the meeting, Al-Sudani confirmed that “he held a series of successful meetings during this visit with President Biden and the rest of the officials, and that the timing of the visit is important to strengthen relations between the two countries,” pointing to “the government’s vision of creating a sustainable relationship that includes all fields, including the security field, which is what was done.” It is based on a set of methodological foundations that began with the Supreme Military Committee, which will discuss the mission of the international coalition, and this is subject to regulation in the ongoing dialogues between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Pentagon to determine the form of the future security relationship.[/size]

[size=45]In turn, Senator Kane affirmed his “support for the efforts that work to transform the relationship and make the economic, commercial and cultural aspects prominent, and not the military aspect,” stressing his appreciation for the joint steps and ongoing understandings through bilateral committees, which establish and confirm the message of friendship and partnership and strengthen economic and development cooperation between the two countries.[/size]
