    Member of the House of Representatives for the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Muthanna Amin, revealed today, Saturday (April 20, 2024), an expected visit by a Kurdish delegation to the Federal Court during the next two weeks.
    Amin said in statements to "Baghdad Today" that the aim of the visit is to know the legal position of the court in deducting the salaries of martyrs and political prisoners in the region and the possibility of making them equal with their counterparts, by submitting a lawsuit to the court in this regard.
    Amin praised the decision of the Federal Court regarding the salaries of the region’s employees, explaining that this decision contributed to the release of 3 salaries in less than a month, which contributed to the recovery of the situation in the governorates of Kurdistan, stressing that disbursing the remaining three salaries from last year is not within the jurisdiction of the court.
    On February 21, the Federal Court decided to “obligate Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to localize the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees at outlets spread throughout the region or open banks licensed by the Central Bank of Iraq, and deducted from the region’s budget for this.” "The year and the coming years."
    The Federal Court also obligated the Iraqi government to launch funding for the region’s salaries after their resettlement, and not to finance employees’ salaries through loans, in addition to obligating all supervisory authorities to audit the data of Kurdistan employees.
    She stressed "the obligation to submit the monthly budget for the region's employees to the Federal Ministry of Finance," stressing that "the decision to localize the salaries of Kurdistan region employees is a final and binding decision."
    The Federal Supreme Court said today, Tuesday (March 12, 2024), that “the purpose of the decision to localize the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees is to guarantee their rights.”
    A statement to the court media received by “Baghdad Today” stated, “With regard to the measures taken by the Ministry of Finance in implementation of the decision of the ruling issued by the Federal Supreme Court No. (224 and consolidated No. 269 / Federal / 2024) dated 2/21/2024 regarding the payment of the dues of employees of the Kurdistan region, he explained The localization mechanism requires a period of time based on the letter of the Federal Ministry of Finance regarding financing the account under Letter No. (6369) dated 11/3/2024, so it is the duty of the Kurdistan Regional Government to cooperate and coordinate with the Federal Ministry of Finance in this regard.”
    He stated, “The purpose of the Federal Supreme Court’s decision regarding the process of nationalizing salaries is to guarantee the rights of employees in the region, to preserve their strength and to achieve social justice, and since the process of nationalization requires a sufficient period of time to complete it, therefore, the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the regional government must, Accelerating and making efforts to achieve the nationalization process, provided that the salaries of the remaining employees whose salaries localization process has not been completed for technical reasons will be paid in cash until the full salary localization process is completed.”
