    The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, confirmed on Tuesday that the Development Road Project will be a vital tributary to Iraq and the region, while calling on international companies to benefit from the investment opportunities provided by this project.
    A statement from the ministry, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, stated that “Minister of Trade Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi headed the Iraqi delegation participating in the third meeting of the Trade Negotiating Committee in the Trade Preferences System (TPS-OIC) for member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held in the Turkish city of Istanbul.”

    Al-Ghurairi said in a speech he delivered during the meeting: “The focus of our meeting is the trade preferences of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Republic of Iraq is one of the member states of the organization,” adding, “We have ratified the framework agreement and are proceeding with the completion of the other stages to move forward with it.”

    Al-Ghurairi added, “The current government headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani has adopted the slogan of the services government and is proceeding with completing the legal and legislative environment to create the necessary laws to suit the current changes that would contribute to integration within the international and regional system.”

    He pointed out, "Our participation in the ministerial meeting is a message that Iraq is part of this system, and we support and support all efforts and outcomes that ensure achieving the goal of moving towards economic integration and overcoming all challenges." 

    The Minister extended an invitation to his counterparts participating in the ministerial meeting to urge reputable companies in various economic sectors in their countries to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Iraq, especially those related to the path of development, which we hope will be a vital tributary to Iraq and the countries of the region, in addition to the call for active participation in the 48th session of the Baghdad Expo. The international conference, which will be held on the first of next November in the capital, Baghdad.

    He stressed, on the other hand, “to invest in international forums to convey the voice of the patient Palestinian people, to carry out our duties and responsibilities towards the woes and groans they are suffering, and to harness all international and international efforts to issue decisions that contribute to deterring the blatant violations committed by the Zionist entity in the Gaza Strip to stop the machine of destruction.” And opening safe corridors to treat the wounded and deliver humanitarian, food and medical aid to restore life there.”
