Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed today, Thursday, the House of Representatives’ keenness to legislate the service and retirement law for the Popular Mobilization Forces mujahideen.
Al-Mandalawi said in a statement received by Al-Maaloma Agency: “Sayyed Al-Sistani (may his life be long) preserved the sanctities of Muslims, preserved the blood of peoples, and protected homelands from the dominance of the forces of ignorance and backwardness.”
He added, "The response of the Iraqis to the call of the religious authority and their sacrifice for the sake of Islam and the homeland was honorable, historic, and unique, noting that the House of Representatives is keen to approve the draft service and retirement law for members of the Popular Mobilization Forces to guarantee their full rights."
He congratulated the "leaders and members of the Popular Mobilization Forces on the occasion of its founding, praising their sacrifices, heroism, and great role in defeating the dark forces and breaking the neck of terrorism."
He pointed out that "the role of the religious authority throughout history has been pivotal and decisive, and the great fatwa of Sayyid al-Sistani (may his soul be long) regarding the Sufficient Jihad has preserved the sanctities of Muslims, preserved the blood of the peoples, protected the homelands from the dominance of the forces of ignorance and backwardness, and saved Iraq, the region and the whole world from the danger of terrorism and violence."
