Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, said today, Friday, that parties (he did not name) sought to use the name of the Popular Mobilization Forces to implement what deviates from its official security and military duties in the country.
This came in a speech he delivered during the ceremony held in the capital, Baghdad, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and the issuance of the fatwa on sufficient jihad from the religious authority, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani.
Al-Sudani said in his speech, “There is no path before us except the path of building the state, strengthening the work of its institutions and the rule of law, and preserving the interests of Iraq.”
He went on to say, "Although some parties seek to use the name of the PMF to implement what deviates from its tasks, it is still mobilizing the nation and mobilizing the people, and it will not deviate from its historical path and role."
Al-Sudani added, "We have met the aspirations of citizens in a government that serves them, overcomes challenges, fights corruption, and preserves public money."
He also stressed, "We presented in our government program the issue of supporting all types of our armed forces, including the Popular Mobilization Forces."
The Prime Minister continued to say, "We aim to maintain the mobilization's readiness and develop its capabilities, and we have completed the reasons for support and prepared the professional camps located outside the cities."
