    Today, Monday, the General Traffic Directorate announced the highways operating with the radar system, while indicating the mechanism for unifying fines with the region.
    Director of the Relations and Media Department at the General Traffic Directorate, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Al-Hassoun, said, “The General Traffic Directorate is serious and determined to activate the radar system on highways,” noting that “the radar system has been implemented on the highways leading to Holy Karbala, Anbar, Diyala, and Babylon, and will be implemented.” Introducing the rest of the governorates to limit speed and prevent excessive speed, to preserve the safety of citizens from traffic accidents on external roads.”
    He added, "There are many future proposals and plans that the General Traffic Directorate is working on, some of which have come into effect, such as smart cameras and radars on external roads, electronic traffic lights, planning and furnishing streets, opening a license plate and electronic automation factory, and changing official working hours to relieve traffic congestion. There are future plans at the Directorate." By moving towards technology and modernity, in order to meet the aspirations of the Iraqi citizen.”
    Regarding unifying the imposition of fines between the center and the region, Al-Hassoun explained that “there is high-level joint cooperation and coordination between the central government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan region through the exchange of information via disks and electronic exchange with regard to monitoring traffic violations in Baghdad and the Kurdistan region.”
