Revealed MP Al-Fath Alliance Mohammed Al-Daraji, on Monday, the intention of a plethora of parliamentary signatures to amend Article 76 of the Constitution of the largest bloc.
"We intend in the coming days to collect parliamentary signatures in order to amend Article 76 of the Iraqi constitution and make the election of the prime minister directly," Darraji said in a televised interview.
Al-Darraji said that "this article is the most prominent problems of the political process in Iraq," warning that "if the political system does not change, there will be an unexpected change."
Article 76 of the Constitution first assigns the President of the Republic candidate of the parliamentary bloc the most numerous to form the Council of Ministers within 15 days from the date of the election of the President of the Republic.
