Iraq Development Fund: We have started a more serious phase in supporting investment

The Executive Director of the Iraq Development Fund, Mohammed Al-Najjar, believes that developing investments in the country represents the most prominent goals of the government, due to its role in enhancing the country's economic capabilities, while he explained that Iraq has begun a new, more serious phase in supporting investment and addressing chronic crises within the country.
Al-Najjar told Al-Sabah that the volume of work in the country is large and requires a huge global and local effort to cover the needs of the national labor market. From here, we set out to create an attractive work environment for specialized investment companies that have a real desire to be present in the Iraqi labor market, although we know that there are major global companies that put Iraq at the top of their priorities and are waiting for the right time, which is represented by the appropriate environment to have a strong presence and move the wheel of the economy.
He added that Iraq is a fertile ground for work in the productive and service sectors, which requires us to adopt the best methods that contribute to facilitating investment tasks within the country, and that the path for investments be easy and free from all forms of complexity and routine that represent one of the elements that keep investments away from the country, pointing out that Iraq has begun a new, more serious phase in supporting investment with the aim of addressing chronic crises within the country in more than one sector.
Al-Najjar pointed out that the government's visions support any effort aimed at building the country and developing its sectors, whether productive or service-related, especially since the private sector receives great attention from the government, to support the government's directions in implementing projects in all sectors.
Al-Najjar pointed out that investments represent an important outlet for achieving an economic renaissance that is compatible with Iraq’s capabilities and natural and human resources, as the country can achieve integration with investments that must be employed to serve Iraq to move it to a new and better stage, addressing the chronic problems that the country suffers from and that have confused the reality of the economy and made it decline despite the availability of the elements of success.
Al-Najjar described the private sector as developed and has begun to keep pace with global development in many aspects, in order to improve the reality of performance within the Iraqi labor market and move it to a better stage, as the country now possesses executive capabilities that rise to the global level.
He stated that the country must possess executive capabilities capable of taking on major national responsibilities within the national labor market, through implementing service and production projects that contribute to transforming the reality of the national economy and making it take the path of true sustainable development, indicating the possibility of taking paths that lead to employing Iraq's capabilities in the right direction.
