An official source at the Central Bank of Iraq revealed, today, Monday (July 29, 2024), the imminent opening of the bank's new building in the Al-Jadiyah area in the capital Baghdad.
The source told News that "it is scheduled for the end of this year or the beginning of next year 2025, as a maximum, the new building of the Central Bank will be opened as the first architectural masterpiece with a height of (172) meters and includes (38) floors, with offices, meeting rooms and storage places fortified of money and gold, in addition to various celebration halls and a theater."
The source, who asked not to be named, described that "the opening of the Central Bank building will be accompanied by a very large ceremony attended by the responsible dignitaries in the Iraqi state, in addition to representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions," noting that "the bank's transfer to this new building will ease traffic jams in the Rashid area and the near areas in central Baghdad."
The construction of the new Central Bank began in 2018 and is designed by the late Iraqi international architect Zaha Hadid.

A new digital currency, digitized bank, financial system and government? A new modern bank that embraces the latest technologies from around the world. One that an Iraqi woman designed.
