    Baghdad Today - Erbil
Kurdistan Democratic Party member Rebin Salam warned, on Wednesday (July 31, 2024), of the expansion of the phenomenon of regional and international conflict in the region.
Salam said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The Kurdistan Region is part of the region, and it will certainly be affected by any conflict or armed conflict, and we want to distance ourselves from the recent American-Iranian conflict."
He added, "Erbil and the region are currently far from the conflict, but we fear being dragged into this conflict by force by the armed factions, so we always want to be a neutral party in this conflict."
The Democratic Party member pointed out that "Erbil will remain neutral, and our relationship with Iran is now good, and we have no hostilities with any party."
The region witnessed developments yesterday, Tuesday, that portend the outbreak of a regional war after Israel carried out an air strike during which it said it assassinated the second man in the Lebanese Hezbollah, Fouad Shukr, while it carried out another strike at dawn today, Wednesday, in which it assassinated the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, at his residence in the north of the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Meanwhile, the Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters in the Jurf al-Sakhar district, north of Babylon, were subjected to airstrikes, which resulted in the martyrdom of 4 fighters and the wounding of three others, according to an official statement by the Popular Mobilization Forces.
