    The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Al-Asadi, announced the reopening of the application process for the platform of the full-time appointee salary for people with disabilities, noting the launch of a special link for jobs for people with disabilities and special needs and their medical, social and economic empowerment.

    Regarding the disabled, he said, "Today we announce the opening of applications on the full-time appointee salary platform through an electronic link via the Or platform, and we announce the resumption of issuing debit cards (MasterCard) for those eligible for whom medical decisions have been issued."

    He added that the issuance process will start with the most disabled, provided that the disability rate is (100%) and downward according to the eligibility of each governorate, calling on citizens to review according to the publication of names on the official page of the ministry and the Disability Rights Commission.

    He also announced the opening of the link (Empowerment and Jobs Platform) for people with disabilities and special needs through vocational training and granting licenses to institutes concerned with empowering this category (socially, economically, medically, educationally, and professionally), in addition to providing free grants for people with disabilities from families below the poverty line.

    He also announced the release of the accumulated amount for beneficiaries of cases in which (the appointee has not been changed, and the deceased) for the governorates (Basra, Diwaniyah, Baghdad, Salah al-Din, and Nineveh) with a total amount of more than 18 billion and 640 million dinars.

    He called on the disabled who are able to work to visit the employment offices that were opened in the disability departments in Baghdad and the governorates to register their names, and the ministry is responsible for finding job opportunities for them in the private sector and granting them soft loans.

    He stressed that the Department of People with Disabilities in the Governorate has been rehabilitated in terms of electrical installations and the construction of roofs for the reviewers, and cooperation is ongoing with the holy shrines and relevant authorities for the purpose of providing the necessary needs for the department.

    Regarding the Social Protection Authority, the Minister revealed that the number of those included in social assistance in the Governorate reached (110,555) families, with (80,073) families supported by a man and (30,482) families supported by a woman.

    He added, the number of beneficiaries of our loans is not at the level of the governorate's population and the number of loan recipients cumulatively reached about (5,123) borrowers, and the number of loan recipients under the new program reached (277) borrowers.

    Regarding foreign workers, he revealed that the correction of the status of foreign workers was launched since the beginning of last month and a time limit was set for violations until the first of next September, and the number of requests submitted to correct the status of workers reached (1988) requests and the number of transactions promoted (115) transactions.

    He called on workers in the private sector to invest in the retirement and social security law to guarantee their rights, especially after the optional security came into effect.
