Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met this morning, Saturday, in Erbil, Thomas Seiler, the European Union Ambassador to Iraq.
A statement issued by the presidency of the region stated that the two sides discussed, in a meeting, the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and positively evaluated the latest steps and developments in the dialogue between them in order to solve the outstanding problems, and affirmed their support for continuing the dialogue in order to solve the problems through understanding.
In this context, the European Union Ambassador said: We will make every effort to help the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government to activate the economy and job opportunities.
In another axis of the meeting, the two sides discussed the tenth anniversary of the Yazidi genocide, the current situation and the future of the Yazidis and components in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and highlighted the agreement to normalize the situation in Sinjar between the Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, the issue of immigration, and the latest developments in the situation in the region in general, according to the statement.
