    Information/Baghdad..
The Central Markets Department, affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce, announced today, Friday, the imminent opening of a number of its locations starting from this August. While it indicated that it will operate according to what is known as the open market and in partnership with the private sector, it confirmed that its prices will be subsidized by 20%.
Director General of the Central Markets Department, Zahra Al-Kilani, said, "The central markets on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa contain all consumer goods that serve the Iraqi family," indicating that "the locations of Hay Al-Amel and Al-Salihiya will open in the current month of August, followed by the opening of the Al-Shaab location and then the other locations."
She added, "The markets contain all food items such as meat, vegetables and fruits, in addition to electrical and household items, pharmacies, and tablet and accessory stores."
Al-Kilani pointed out that "the prices of materials in the central markets are subsidized by 20% less than the local market, and shopping will be done through electronic payment or through paper notebooks."
