    Informed Iraqi sources revealed, today, Sunday (August 4, 2024), that 7 Iraqi figures close to the axis of resistance have resorted to the principle of security isolation.
    The sources said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The recent assassinations in Tehran and Beirut and the targeting of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Jurf al-Nasr north of Babylon last week are an indication that there are no red lines and that the assassination button is ready whenever America and Israel have the opportunity and there are many excuses in light of the "bullying" practiced by the largest country in the world in the Middle East with the support of Tel Aviv."
    He added that "7 Iraqi figures close to the axis of resistance have actually resorted to the principle of security closure, which is to limit their movements and appearance in public facilities and to perform public activities in anticipation of any emergency in light of the possibility of an imminent response from Tehran and the factions of the axis of resistance against Tel Aviv, which puts the situation in a state of general confusion."
    She pointed out that "the Shiite leaderships in general do not trust any American pledges of calm, especially since the bombing of Jurf al-Nasr was a surprise, which makes carrying out an assassination here or there to send messages with the title of blood present on the agenda of the leaders in the White House, especially with the recent escalation in the assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, which could not have been carried out without a green light from America."
    The sources indicated that "expectations of assassinations taking place on Iraqi soil are very high," noting that "the coming days will be open to all scenarios, especially with the weakness in securing the airspace and violations by drones and aircraft coming from many countries."
    Tensions in the region flared last week after the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Wednesday, a day after an Israeli airstrike in Beirut killed Hezbollah's top military commander, Fouad Shukr.
    Haniyeh's assassination is part of a series of assassinations targeting prominent figures in the Hamas movement as the war in Gaza approaches its eleventh month and fears grow of a wider conflict in the Middle East.
