On Tuesday, the leader of the State of Law Coalition, Sheikh Haider al-Lami, stressed the necessity of not linking the American violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and the bombing of the Popular Mobilization Forces to the tensions witnessed in the region, noting that the aforementioned forces violated all military agreements with Iraq after bombing the Popular Mobilization Forces.
Al-Lami told Al-Maalouma, "There is a violation of Iraq's sovereignty by American forces, and it must be dealt with as an internal event, without linking this blatant violation to the tensions that the region is currently experiencing."
He added, "The attack on the members of the Popular Mobilization Forces represents an attack on the Iraqi state, especially since the Mobilization Forces represents an official security body formed according to a law enacted by Parliament."
He explained that "the so-called international coalition must move and carry out its operations in accordance with Iraqi approvals and in cooperation with the security services inside Iraq, after informing the Commander-in-Chief of any information or security threats in order to deal with them."
