Politicians: Iraq is a pillar for achieving stability in the region

While the pace of events in the region is escalating to threaten a comprehensive war due to Israeli crimes, political observers believe that Iraq and its government led by Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani can play a role in mediation to achieve balance and stability in the region that is exploding with crises, which contributes to extinguishing the fire that will burn everyone if it breaks out, stipulating the presence of popular and internal political support and solidarity for Al-Sudani to play the mediation role, as well as international acceptance of this role.
The head of the Orient Center for Strategic Studies and Information, Ali Mahdi Al-Araji, said in an interview with Al-Sabah: “We can say that the crisis of the Iranian conflict on the one hand and the American and Israeli conflict on the other hand is one of the most complex issues in the Middle East, where interests with political and economic depths overlap, and the point of military conflict between the two countries is shared by them, in addition to regional and international interventions.”
He explained that "in this context, the role of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emerges, as he faces a major challenge in trying to achieve balance and stability in the region, as the political scene in Iraq is still suffering from many crises that must be addressed before moving to the regional dimension." He added, "Al-Sudani seeks to create a balance and play a mediating role between Iran and the United States, but he faces pressure from other countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey, which have conflicting interests. It is also no secret to everyone that there are American violations inside Iraq, as we witnessed military operations against Iraqi national leaders that led to their martyrdom in the end. As for the international side, the positions are also different between the United States, Russia and China, which adds a new complexity to any efforts and mediation."
Al-Araji stressed that "there are opportunities for success, as Iraqi diplomacy can benefit from Iraq's long history of mediation to resolve crises and build bridges of communication between the different parties. This can happen if Al-Sudani is able to obtain internal popular support and international support from the major powers, which may increase his chances of success in achieving progress in the current crisis." For his part, political analyst Dr. Saif Al-Saadi explained in an interview with Al-Sabah that "Al-Sudani has a pressure card to control the rhythm of the resistance factions and prevent them from attacking the locations of American forces in Iraq," noting that "Al-Sudani's role in calming the situation and possessing the tools lies in not dragging Iraq into the arena of war, so that the circle of conflict does not expand and things do not get out of control, and achieving a state of balance and stability in the region headed by Iraq."
Al-Saadi continued that "Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani's ability to resolve the crisis of the Iranian-Western conflict depends on many internal and external factors, but the active Iraqi role in the region can provide opportunities to achieve progress in this file, if it is exploited wisely and effectively."
