Prime Minister: Millions of visits reflect the greatest images of Iraqi generosity

Yesterday, Wednesday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani sponsored the first conference for the million-person visits, which was organized by the Permanent Supreme Committee for the Million-Person Visits, formed in February of last year.
In a speech during the conference, Al-Sudani considered the millions of visits to the shrines of the pure imams and saints, with whom the land of Iraq abounds and is blessed, as “a prominent feature and an important event at the level of the region and the world, and not just our country,” expressing his appreciation for the concerted efforts made by various state institutions and the armed forces in all their branches, the governorates, the holy shrines, social institutions, and popular and tribal initiatives, keen to facilitate and smooth the movement of millions of visitors, and provide them with the best possible service.
The Prime Minister reiterated that organizing visits of this size required the formation of the Permanent Supreme Committee, which assumes major and effective tasks and a decisive responsibility in supervising and managing all visit requirements, in various seasons and titles. It is a front for Iraq and a means of developing sustainable solutions to any obstacles that may arise during visits.
He pointed out that the impact of the visits hosted by Iraq does not stop at the religious performance, but rather carries many meanings and results at the broadest levels, indicating that Iraq, with what it presents in the visits of scenes that reflect the greatest images of the generosity of the Iraqis, has become the focus of the world's attention.
Al-Sudani said: We have moved towards strategic planning for managing visits in order to regulate the process of managing these important occasions, and not to leave them to personal or social initiatives, pointing out that the primary responsibility for managing and sponsoring visits lies with the state and its institutions.
He added, "We have provided full support to the Permanent Supreme Committee, in terms of financial or logistical allocations, and the necessary directives and decisions to facilitate the tasks of its employees." He explained that by forming this committee, our government is establishing the concept of permanent management of the million-strong visits.
He pointed out that the working teams emanating from the committee, or the supporting teams, achieved accomplishments in terms of preparing the infrastructure that serves visitors, and he said: We directed the governorates and concerned authorities early on, through the decisions of the Council of Ministers and the Supreme Coordination Authority between the governorates, to develop and modernize the ports, remove obstacles, and show them in a manner that reflects the face of Iraq.
The Prime Minister continued, “We found stalled projects at the ports that have been mired for years in a whirlpool of administrative procedures that we have worked to dismantle,” stressing that the government has laid the foundation for work to serve the millions of visits that will continue for years to come, and to provide services to visitors to the holy shrines from all over the world. The Permanent Supreme Committee for Millions of Visits was formed under the direction of the Prime Minister, and distributed its work between two phases that include a large number of infrastructure projects related to the millions of visits.
