Thwarting an attempt to waste public money in the northern port of Umm Qasr

On Sunday, the Border Ports Authority announced that it had thwarted an attempt to cheat, manipulate and waste public money with more than 12 million Iraqi dinars at the northern port of Umm Qasr.
The authority stated in a statement seen by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "its owners were able to seize a container outside the customs campus in the search and investigation gate containing unauthorized materials."
And she added, "Through the detection and audit procedures, it was found that there were unauthorized hidden materials, and a referral was made to the existence of fraud in the customs declaration, which caused a waste of public money in an amount estimated at more than (12) million Iraqi dinars."
And she confirmed that "a fundamentalist seizure report has been organized and referred to the investigating judge to take legal measures against the violators."
