Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee Vian Dakhil confirmed today, Thursday, that the financial policy of the Central Bank is incorrect and has caused the collapse of the Iraqi market.
Dakhil said in an interview with Al-Ahd, "The financial policy of the Central Bank is incorrect," indicating that "the policy of the Central Bank has caused the collapse of the Iraqi market."
She added, "The Central Bank is complicit with some foreign capitals and banks to harm the Iraqi economy," explaining that "the Central Bank has done nothing to remove some Iraqi banks from the US sanctions list."
She continued, "The Iraqi economy has become mortgaged to (mafias) because of the Central Bank," noting that "there is supposed to be integration between the legislative and executive authorities regarding combating corruption in Iraq."
Dakhil explained that "the Integrity Committee is working on legislating a law that ensures that foreign figures do not have control over the capital of Iraqi banks," noting that "the Central Bank gives licenses to open foreign banks in Iraq instead of supporting local banks."
