    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Member of Parliament Kazem Al-Fayyadh said today, Sunday (October 27, 2024), that the differences are still ongoing regarding the laws included on the agenda of today's session.
Al-Fayadh said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The political differences regarding the laws included on the agenda of today's session, which are (the draft law to return properties to those covered by some decisions of the Revolutionary Command Council, the Personal Status Law, and the Second Amendment Law to the General Amnesty Law) are still ongoing and ongoing until this moment."
He said, "There are many observations and differences regarding the provisions of these laws, which include all blocs and parties from different components. The continuation of these differences may lead to postponing today's session, or postponing the vote on these laws to other sessions until an agreement is reached on them."
According to the media department of the council, today's Sunday session agenda includes "voting on the draft law to return properties to their owners covered by some decisions of the (dissolved) Revolutionary Command Council ."
It also includes, “voting on the draft Personal Status Law No. (188) of 1959, Articles (2, 10), and voting on the draft law amending the second amendment to the General Amnesty Law No. (27) of 2016. ”
The session also includes "completing the first reading of the draft law on intellectual property protection, and completing the first reading of the draft law on civil aviation ."
Earlier, parliamentary sources revealed that there was an agreement to pass the three laws in one basket during the parliament session expected to be held today, while they indicated that rejecting one of these laws means disrupting the vote on the other two laws.
