The leader of the State of Law Coalition, Haider Al-Lami, confirmed that the Coordination Framework directed the compass towards choosing Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani as Speaker of the House of Representatives and ending the current crisis, especially since the Sunni House was unable to resolve matters in favor of a specific candidate.
Al-Lami told Al-Maalouma, "The crisis of choosing the Speaker of the House of Representatives is nearing its end, as the compass has been directed towards Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani to be the Speaker of the House."
He added, "Despite the fact that the presidency of the House of Representatives is a right for the Sunni component, which requires this house to present an agreed-upon candidate in order to vote for him, the current situation is pushing towards accelerating the selection of the new president in order to integrate the presidencies in the country."
He explained that "there is a clear intention to choose the new president and to proceed with directing the Coordination Framework and calling on it to hold intensive meetings to end the crisis and for the representatives to vote in favor of Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani." End 25N
