    00:01:00 3.16.2016 |(Voice of Iraq) - Baghdadannounced thatthe Ministry ofElectricity signed the financial agreement with the US General Electric Company, the maintenance contract for 13 generating plant to add 700 megawatts national electrical system the middle ofnext summer, indicating that it will pay thevalue of thecontract amounting to $ 328 million over three years ,beginning after the completion of work maintenance, with a grace period - standing one year. the ministry said in astatement that it " has concluded today, thefinancial agreement with the US General electric Company, in thepresence ofMinister ofElectricity, Qassim al -Fahdawi, after amonth and a half of hammered technical agreement with the company in ( the 28th of January 2016 ) ", noting that" theagreements within themaintenance of13 obstetric station held American company to beimplemented to add 700 megawatts of power to thenational electricity system the middle ofnext summer. "she said the Ministry ofElectricity, that" the conclusion of the financial agreement came after obtaining the approval ofthe Ministry ofFinance and theIraqi trade Bank, to pay thecontract value amounting to328 million dollars, which the ministry Stsddh during the three - year formula begins after thecompletion ofmaintenance work ,"indicating that" the fiscal pact includes a grace period of repayment for the first year, that begins after thepayment for two years on theeight batches, with four batches annually. " the Ministry ofElectricity announced in (the 25th of January 2016), its agreement with GE worth about $ 328 million to increase electricity production by athousand megawatts, indicating that it contained material processing maintenance of the generating units of gas stations Khairat, Karbala and Najibiyah Shatt al - Basra and south ofBaghdad , first, Jerusalem and Alhaidariya, Najaf and Diwaniyah, as well as processing and installation engines units (LM6000) for stations Musayyib and Jerusalem invading, processing, installation and unit fuel reprocessing plant Diwaniyah gas, and therehabilitation and installation ofplant Bazargan gas engine. the shortage ofelectricity haslong fueled thestreet against thegovernment and politicians for failing to find aradical solution to it, and was among thereasons for themass movement that began in Basra ( the 31st of July 2015 thepast) , and yet, to demand better services and thefight against corruption and reform of thepolitical process.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
