US President Donald Trump has said that China may have hacked e-mails of Democratic Party officials to intervene in the 2016 US presidential election.
Trump did not provide evidence to support his claim, which he first spoke on the eve of the November 8, 2016 election, when he said: "China" may have pierced e-mail messages to its competitors.
"If you can not catch the intruder while you're doing it, it's very hard to say who made the breakthrough, maybe China and probably many different groups," Trump said on CBS's CBS TV program.
The statement contradicts the view of US intelligence officials who said that "Moscow has orchestrated the matter."
