    The Office of the Prime Minister denied on Saturday the authenticity of the news that the government is funding the Kurdistan Regional referendum scheduled for next September.
    Saad al-Hadithi, a spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office of Information, said in a brief statement, "It is absolutely clear to what a lawmaker said on a television program that the federal government handed over money to the Kurdistan Regional Government to hold the referendum."
    The government's denial came in response to allegations by a member of the House of Representatives, who accused the federal government of granting the Kurdistan region amounts to cover the expenses of the process
    The referendum.
    The head of the Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani, in a press interview on Friday, he discussed with Prime Minister Haider Abadi referendum issue during a telephone call recently, and he expressed his willingness to negotiate with Baghdad after
    Advertising results.
    The Kurdish parties, except for the two blocs of change and the Islamic Group, agreed during an expanded meeting in Erbil to hold a referendum on the fate of the region on September 25 next.
