The three presidencies agreed on the need to choose a new Independent Council of the Independent High Electoral Commission, while discussing the phenomenon of armed gangs.
A presidential statement, received by «morning», that President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Haider Abadi and Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri, held a meeting at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.
"During the meeting, extensive discussions took place in the economic, security, electoral and armed gangs as well as issues of emergency priority," the statement said.
The participants stressed «the need to finish as soon as the selection of the new Council of the Independent High Electoral Commission on the basis of independence, competence and integrity».
