Turkey: We will open a new crossing with Iraq instead of Khabour

Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade Bulent Tovinci said on Wednesday that his country is working to open a new port with Iraq, instead of the Khaboor "Ibrahim al-Khalil", which will close at any moment.
"A new outlet will be opened in place of the Khabour port," said Tovinci in a press statement briefed by the Economist News.
"The border port can be opened within two or three months," he said. "It is possible to close the Khabour crossing at any moment."
The new crossing, according to Turkish sources, will be near the area of Ovakoy and Bostangi, and will be from Turkey to Iraq directly, but across the border area close to Syria.
