The Arab League called on Monday to activate the economic boycott against the Israeli occupation in the context of peaceful resistance and pressure on the entity to respond to the resolutions of international legitimacy.
This came in the speech of the Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the occupied Arab territories at the Arab League today Ambassador Said Abu Ali during a conference at the university's headquarters in Cairo.
Abu Ali called for the need to expand the economic boycott of "Israel", both at the public and official levels, in order to oblige it to recognize the rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital .
"The Arab boycott of Israel is the last thing we have left in confronting the occupation and confronting it," said Muhannad al-Akluk, the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the Arab League. "The time of war is over, and we have only this legitimate tool to confront it ."
Arab countries import many agricultural and industrial goods and services from occupied Palestine, some of which take place formally and informally .
The representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at the conference, Adib Salim, said in a speech that the boycott of the Israeli occupation economically is a legitimate defense action, "based on international laws and conventions ."
Salim added that the economic boycott of this entity and the foreign parties dealing with the settlements is "a means to deter the aggressor and not an end in itself ."
Delegates from Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Algeria, Yemen, Djibouti, Morocco and Bahrain, as well as the OIC, will participate in the conference .
The three-day conference will discuss a number of issues related to the Arab economic boycott of the Israeli occupation entity, foremost of which is the importance of applying the ban, listing companies on the boycott list and warning other companies and lifting companies from the embargo list . C
