    BAGHDAD -
The Washington Post has confirmed the independence of the Iraqi federal government's decisions toward the Kurdish crisis, despite external pressure.
"The decisions of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi regarding confronting a terrorist organization or dealing with the Kurdish issue in recent times are not under American or Iranian influence," the newspaper said in its report.
The newspaper said that "Abadi's response to the comments of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on the popular mobilization forces," indicating that Abadi is not peeping Iran's moves in Iraq, was proved when he sought to strengthen international relations with Iran and neighboring countries, Egypt, and Turkey. At the same time, he stressed the importance of dialogue with the Kurdish government and northern Iraqi minorities.
At the end of its report, the newspaper highlighted Abadi's refusal to consider Iraq an international battlefield when he said in an interview with the Washington Post: "We want to work with both of us without exception," meaning America and Iran. "But we hope not to bring your problems into Iraq."
