The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohammed al-Sudani, unveiled a plan to present the Iraqi factories destroyed during the war to the investors at the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq.
Al-Sudani said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that "his ministry prepared a comprehensive and detailed file of all the damaged and destroyed Iraqi factories, especially the factories of important sectors to be presented to investors at the Kuwait International Conference."
He explained that "the factories will be before all investors without exception, but that the Kuwaiti investor will be private," stressing that "his country has a sincere desire and a real direction to facilitate the entry of the Kuwaiti investor and grant investment opportunities because of the strong relationship and experience of previous work in the country in many sectors" .
The Iraqi industrial sector was severely damaged in the provinces controlled by the Daqash organization in the north of the country, including oil refineries and cement production plants in the governorates of Salah al-Din, Nineveh and Anbar.
Iraq needs about $ 100 billion to rebuild its infrastructure and housing sector, and relies heavily on the Kuwait International Conference for grants and investments to participate in securing a large part of that amount.
The Kuwait International Conference is scheduled to be held from February 12 to 14, and the first day will be dedicated to offering investment opportunities. Finished
