     KUWAIT CITY - Kuwait's Amir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah announced on Wednesday the allocation of one billion dollars for investment in the reconstruction of Iraq and one billion dollars in loans during the opening of the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq.
     "I am pleased to announce that the State of Kuwait, in line with its commitment to support its brothers in Iraq, will commit itself to allocating one billion dollars as loans in accordance with the mechanisms of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development," Sabah said in a speech at the opening of the ministerial meeting of the Iraq Reconstruction Conference.
     Al-Sabah added that "Kuwait has allocated another billion to invest in investment opportunities in Iraq as well as the contribution of Kuwaiti charities." End 25 d
