The Italian Defense Minister, accompanied by the Italian gendarmerie, plans to open an Iraqi police training center in Baghdad in cooperation with the EU-funded project.
"Benotti and General (Giovanni Nestre) will open an Iraqi police training center in Baghdad as part of the support to fight a militant organization," the Italian news agency Nova said.
Italian Defense Minister Roberta Benotti arrived earlier in the day for a visit to Baghdad, where Italian troops were visiting Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
