Iran and Iraq have begun to exchange crude oil as part of a deal between the two countries, the Iranian Oil Ministry news website said on Sunday, adding that logistical problems had been solved .

Shana said 30,000 to 60,000 barrels per day of Kirkuk crude would be transported by truck to Dar Shahr in southeastern Iran .

The Iraqi Oil Ministry announced on Monday that Baghdad has started to exchange quantities of Kirkuk oil in the north of the country with Iran, according to an agreement reached between the two sides at the end of last year.
"Iraq began yesterday to transfer quantities of oil ranging between 30 - 60 thousand barrels per day from the fields of Kirkuk province, to the border area with Iran in the region of Kermanshah," Assem Jihad, a spokesman for the Oil Ministry, told Anatolia.
Jihad added that "the same quantities will be delivered to Iraq through its southern ports, for the purpose of export."
In December, Iraq and Iran signed an agreement to transfer oil from the fields of Kirkuk province daily, via trucks, to the joint border point between the two countries.
For its part, the Iranian Oil Ministry said in a statement to the Anatolia, that "was resolved outstanding logistical issues, which hampered the launch of the swap."
Under the agreement, the seller bears the costs of transport and insurance, until the arrival of the shipment to the intended port, "according to the Iranian Ministry, noting that" the Convention subject to renegotiation. "
Iraq has resorted to the option of bartering Kirkuk oil, which has stopped exporting since last October, after the control of the federal forces in the city, which was under the control of Kurdish forces, because of disagreement with the northern province of the country on the export mechanisms through the port of Ceyhan, Turkey.
It is estimated that the total reserves of Kirkuk province of oil, amounting to 13 billion barrels, or 12 percent of Iraq's oil reserves
