WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President George W. Bush's administration has asked Pentagon officials to begin preparing a plan to receive 20,000 immigrant children at military bases in the United States.
"The Ministry of Health and Human Services sent a letter to the Pentagon today on this matter and the preparation of military bases to receive children who have separated from their families who were deported out of the country because of their illegal entry," according to news sites on Thursday.
"The Pentagon will support any request from the Trump administration to deal with the migrants' crisis along the border and to solve humanitarian problems," Defense Secretary James Matisse said.
