Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is due to meet with US President Donald Trump on Monday in an interview with the London-based Arabic newspaper The Financial Times.
"Erdogan will go to Qatar in his latest dispute with President Donald Trump over the detention of US Rev. Andrew Brunson in Turkey, which caused a diplomatic crisis between the two countries that resulted in Washington imposing sanctions on Ankara," the newspaper said in a report.
"Although Erdogan has maintained his position in light of the sharp drop in the Turkish lira against the dollar, he will eventually bow to American demands and will have to release the American pastor because the Turkish economy will not tolerate the economic sanctions imposed by Trump last week, Foreign investors exit the Turkish market. "
"Erdogan will turn to his main ally in the region, the emirate of Qatar, to seek economic support in the crisis," he said. "He will have to ease relations with the NATO countries, which is of strategic importance to the West "Finished.
