The general index of the stock exchange declined significantly in 2018 on an annualized basis.
The index fell by 12.1% last year, compared to 2017, which registered an annual increase of 531%.
The benchmark index closed at 510.12 points at the last 2018 sessions, compared with the closing of 580.54 points in the previous year.
The index lost 70.42 points in 2018, after winning 488.54 points in 2017.
Liquidity on the Iraqi stock exchange dropped 27.8% during 2018 to 211.71 billion dinars compared to 293.18 billion dinars in 2017.
And the volume of shares traded on them to 359.75 billion shares, compared to 462.82 billion shares in the previous year.
The EGX will hold the last 2018 sessions on Monday 24 December, with the first trading session for 2019 to be on Wednesday, January 2nd.
