A Hebrew newspaper reveals Tehran's plan to hit Iraqi crops and dump markets like Iran

The Israeli news agency Haaretz reported on Saturday that it had uncovered Iranian plans to strike at agriculture in Iraq.
The newspaper added that Israel plans to hit Iraqi agricultural products to replace the local production of Iranian imports.
But in one of her analytical essays, Haaretz stressed the importance of Washington expelling [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] economically in Iraq, not just building military bases.
Iran's tomatoes, not its missiles or unemployment, have provoked anger in the city of Basra this month.
The flooding of Basra's markets with thousands of tons of Iranian tomatoes led to hundreds of farmers taking to the streets to demand that the government halt the "red tide" that led to higher prices and caused heavy losses to Iraqi farmers.
But farmers say there are enough tomatoes in the country, so there is no need to import them from Iran.
According to Iraqi law, products from other countries should not be imported if there is a local alternative.
