A US delegation to Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Wednesday stressed his country's readiness to cooperate and support the efforts of the Iraqi government.

"Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi received today at his office in Baghdad the president of the USIP Institute for Peace, Nancy Lundborg and the accompanying delegation. The meeting reviewed developments in Iraq in terms of internal stability, unity and cohesion," Abdul-Mahdi's office said in a statement received by Alsumaria News. The statement added that the government's vision to establish relations of partnership, cooperation and exchange of interests with all Arab countries and neighboring countries has been reviewed in order to promote opportunities for development and economic prosperity and to distance the region from disputes and axes. 

For his part, the president and members of the Institute of Peace, said that his country "is ready to cooperate and support the efforts of the Iraqi government and the role of civil society organizations and all that enhances the efforts of security and stability and community reconciliation and democratic life."
