(Baghdad: Euphrates News) The Oil Ministry confirmed its keenness to accelerate the completion of projects to promote the liquidation sector across the country to cover the local need of oil derivatives.
An official source at the ministry said in a press statement that the Ministry of Oil "is keen to accelerate projects to promote the liquidation sector to cover the local need, as well as the development and improvement of petroleum products and upgrade them to international standards, noting that his ministry has recently implemented its plan to this side through Rehabilitation operations and the conclusion of a number of contracts. "
He added that "including the signing of the investment contract for the project to install a hydrogenation unit and the group and improve gasoline for the Kirkuk oil refinery with a conversion capacity of 12 thousand barrels per day of improved gasoline, as well as the installation of a liquid gas unit."
The source added that "this contract produces and provides a good amount of improved gasoline 95 (octane) covering a large part of the need for Kirkuk and neighboring governorates," pointing out that his ministry is continuing to upgrade Iraqi refineries and increase production capacity by adding new units to existing refineries, Or through the establishment of a number of new refineries with advanced global technology.
He pointed out that this project is part of the ministry's plan to encourage local investment to contribute to the development of the liquidation sector, noting that this sector is currently witnessing many development projects and rehabilitation will contribute to increase domestic production and reduce the proportion of foreign import, which provides hard currency for the State Treasury ".
He stressed the keenness of his ministry to complete the Karbala refinery project on schedule and supply the liquidation system with new and additional oil derivatives with international specifications, indicating that the completion rate of the Karbala refinery project exceeded 67 percent, usually the project of the most important projects in the production sector It covers an important aspect of the basic needs of citizens. "
The source said that his ministry has directed management of oil refineries center company to prepare a training curriculum for intensive national cadres, which will operate and manage the refinery after the experimental operation and involve them in specialized courses inside and outside Iraq, in cooperation with Korean companies, stressing the keenness of his ministry to increase the production capacity of Najaf refinery, which currently stands at 30 000 Barrels per day through an urgent plan to add new units that enhance the production capacity of the refinery to provide additional capacity of oil derivatives.
