Oil plans to achieve self-sufficiency of derivatives
The Ministry of Oil on Saturday referred to the giant FAU refinery project for China's Power Jena and NRCO and revealed its intention to invite an investment company to contribute to projects including the Anbar refinery with a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day.
"The ministry referred the FAO refinery project to Power Java and the two Chinese companies," ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said in a statement. "The capacity of the refinery is 300,000 barrels, which is one of the giant export investment projects in the southern province of Basra."
Jihad added that "the project includes an integrated complex of petrochemicals, and other facilities built near the port of export in FAO," pointing out that "the ministry plans to achieve self-sufficiency of oil derivatives through the establishment of investment projects in the liquidation sector and the gradual transition to the country of origin.
He explained that "the ministry is about to announce, soon, the call of investment companies to participate in the implementation of the Anbar refinery project, the capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day, and the refinery of Alkayara 100 thousand barrels per day, as well as the refinery of Dhi Qar capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day, as well as other projects will announce Later.
