The head of the Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marsh Parliamentary Salam al-Shammari, on Wednesday, Turkey to abide by its commitments to Iraq on the water file and Iraq's share of them.
Al-Shammari said in a press statement received (Euphrates News) a copy, that "the political and trade relations with Turkey continues to rise in light of the desire of Iraq to pursue a balanced policy with everyone reflects the clear desire to keep him away from the policy of axes and tendency to one party at the expense of others."
"Turkey should look at relations with Iraq in a clear and open manner, stay away from reneging on agreements and the results of previous talks in this matter and use the water file as a means of pressure for special purposes," he said.
He called on Turkey to "abide by its commitments and stay away from any negative steps affecting the relationship with Iraq," noting that "the policy of reciprocity is a natural right for any other country trying to harm it."
A few days ago, Turkey refused to sign an agreement on Iraq's share of water after it reached its final phase by withdrawing from the agreement.
