The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday the formation of a presidential team to follow up projects, while also decided to approve the priorities of draft laws.
"The cabinet held its weekly session under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi," the prime minister's media office said in a statement received, adding that "Abdul Mahdi, at the beginning of the meeting briefed the latest developments."
The statement added, "The Council of Ministers discussed the issues on its agenda, and issued a number of decisions and directives," noting that "the Council decided to approve the mechanism of implementation of paragraph (1) of the Council of Ministers Resolution: (93 of 2019) on the problems and constraints of the segment of contractors ".
The Cabinet approved "the amendment of the text of Article (1) of the draft law amending the Social Welfare Law No. (126) of 1980" and decided "to approve the priorities of the draft laws: Recommendation to the House of Representatives to withdraw the draft law regulating the establishment of Allawi, selling fruits, vegetables and animals, And recommend to the House of Representatives to wait on the adoption of the draft law on oil and gas until the completion of the draft law to amend the law of the National Oil Company and the completion of the draft law on oil and gas before the Council of State.
The Council decided, "Approving the amendment of the designation of (General Electric Power Transmission Company / Upper and Middle Euphrates) to become (General Electric Power Transmission Company / Middle Euphrates) in the Ministry of Electricity, in accordance with the provisions of Article (3) of the Public Companies Law No. (22). For the year 1997 as amended, agreeing to the amendment of paragraph (1) of the Cabinet Resolution:
He also approved the amendment of paragraph (2) of the Cabinet Resolution No. (267) of 2018, by adding the Minister of Culture to the Committee of Ulemas, and decided to "approve the formation of the presidential team to follow up the projects."
