The demonstrators in Baghdad, and several governorates, renewed their position rejecting the assignment of Muhammad Allawi to head the government to succeed the resigned Adel Abdul Mahdi, stressing their continuation of the peaceful approach.
They stressed the necessity of forming an effective government of independent ministers, demanding the necessity of abolishing the quota system and forming a transitional government quickly.
They cautioned against the continuation of the political consensus approach that brought "disasters" to the country.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the demonstrators called for intervention to stop the violence, which killed more than 800 protesters and injured more than 25,000 others.
