The local federation of agricultural cooperative societies in the holy Karbala confirmed that the decline in the production of dates is due to the bulldozing of orchards and their transformation into residential plots.
"The phenomenon of bulldozing the orchards, which has aggravated in the rural areas of Karbala in the past period, has caused great losses to the palms and trees, which are famous for their conservative cultivation, which has led to a decline in the productivity of dates and trees," union leader Walid Hamad Al-Kareiti said in a statement to Al-Maalouma.
Al-Kareiti added, "The concerned authorities should hold owners of real estate and beneficiaries accountable, who often convert the gender of the land without obtaining the original approvals from the relevant authorities." Ended / 25
