    {Baghdad: Al Furat News} A member of the Oil and Energy Committee, Zahra Al-Bajari, confirmed today, Monday, that Iraq's dependence on gas from other countries will cause problems for the country, indicating that the Ministry of Oil is lagging in the issue of gas investment.

    "The difference in the price of a barrel of oil between the number recorded in the budget and the current price will go to pay the financial deficit in the budget estimated at 24 trillion Iraqi dinars, in addition to the loans accumulated by the state," Al-Bajari said in an interview with Al-Furat News.
    She indicated that "there is movement to establish new refineries and develop existing oil refineries." 
    Al-Bajari indicated that "one of the controls in the licensing rounds is the extraction of oil and gas investment," noting that "the Ministry of Oil is lagging and late in this area and has not seriously pursued gas investment despite Iraq's need for it."
    The member of the Parliamentary Energy indicated that "any dependence on any external source causes problems in the stability of Iraq."
    The economist Basem Jamil Antoine has confirmed that any increase in oil prices will lead to the economic recovery to higher levels in the country.
    Antoine told {Al-Furat News} that "Iraq is more rentier than any other oil-producing country," stressing that "any increase in oil prices leads to a good level, and this in turn is also reflected in reducing the fiscal deficit in the budget and stimulating the economy."
    He added that "using the differentials in oil prices leads to investment, job creation and local production
