    The National Approach bloc announced, Saturday, (March 20, 2021), that the budget includes foreign loans amounting to more than (8.5) billion dollars, while it warned against the foreign borrowing policy.
    The head of the bloc, Ammar Tohme, said in a statement received by  IQNEWS , "We reject the new foreign loans included in the 2021 budget bill amounting to more than (8.5) billion dollars, and we demand parliament not to approve it," warning of "foreign borrowing policy and its burdensome sovereign and economic effects." Especially since many of the projects proposed to allocate these loans to them are not a priority in the government investment approach, and what supports our rejection of these loans is that the allocations of local investment projects amount to (24) trillion dinars, which are sufficient amounts to cover development and productive investment projects if there is an efficient and sound vision, planning and management.
    He added that "what has been allocated in the 2021 budget to repay the debt with its installments and interest exceeds (9) trillion dinars, which constitutes 10% of the estimates of total operational expenditures." ".
    Tohme refused "to authorize the Minister of Finance to issue sovereign payment guarantees to investors in electric energy in the budget law for the same harmful reasons and consequences mentioned," and called on "Parliament to cancel them."
